Hopefully this is the correct forum. If not, I apologize for overlooking it.

I'm having an issue with my washing machine. It is a GE wbb4500g0ww washer. Can't find a .pdf manual online.

Sometimes when you press Start it will fill up for a second or two and then just quit filling. Sometimes it might be 5, 10 minutes or more into the cycle. We've seen t have a tub full of water and suds and just be sitting there. No flashing lights, etc.

I'm curious if the issue is something to do with the main control board. I really hate to have to buy a new machine.

any advice?

Here is the manual. Owner's Manual - GE Residential Washers 49-90247, WBB4500E1WW, WARE5260DCWW, WBB4500E6WW, WWRE5240DCWW, WBB4500G0WW, WWRE5240DCCC, EWA4500, WKSE5260E6WW, WSRE5260DCWW, WNSE5260, WWSE5240 - ManageMyLife.com

It looks a lot fancier than my washer so I can't begin to guess what the problem is, but one thing it said in the troubleshooting in the manual was to reset the electronics, unplug the washer for two minutes then plug it back in. It also said sometimes it will stop for a while to remove soapy water more efficiently, or will seem like it's just sitting there doing nothing if the Casuals cycle is chosen because that cycle alternates soaking and agitating. So maybe try the unplugging thing before you call a repairman.

Thanks. I promise I've searched. Not sure how I've missed it. Although looking at the diagram of the 4500, mine doesn't look exactly like that but real close.

Strangely enough, I replaced the water inlet valve a few months ago but due to a different reason. I'll check the other video now.

Looking at the Water level switch video I'm not convinced that's the problem. Seems like it would overflow if that was the issue.

I'll try the tip above about unplugging it for 2 minutes. Sure would be nice if that was the solution.

I'll just toss it out there...

We were having troubles with our washer, with intermittent filling/draining, turned out that our drain hose and drain pump were severely clogged...

Thanks. I'm not exactly sure how to check that. Well, the hose seems self explanatory but I'm not sure about the pump.

The pump is under the tub, attached to the motor. To get to it, you have to take the cabinet off.

This is the video I watched when I needed to get to my washing machine pump.
Drain Pump Replacement (part #3363394) - Whirlpool/ Kenmore Washer Repair - YouTube

Your machine is not the same as mine, maybe you can find a video specifically for it. This video will give you a good idea of where to find the pump though.

What my machine was doing was filling with water and then not doing anything else, just making a buzzing noise. It turned out that my daughter left a very tough MP3 player case in her pocket and it was jammed into the pump. I didn't have to buy anything to make the repair, just take it apart and pull out the thing that was stuck in it, but there was no way of knowing that until I had it all apart.
