Getting my house ready to sell and had a painter come by for a quote for touching up walls, fixing drywall holes from nails and dents, fixing cracks in walls and between baseboards, fixing drywall from water damage and will also be fixing the tape separating on my vaulted ceilings. house is about 2400 sq ft and he quoted me 2k. does this seem too high? was recommended from my realtor.

No way of knowing the extent of the damage, so no way of knowing if the quote is high.

That seems pretty reasonable to me.

In Philly? I would consider that a bargain-

Here in the ATL, that would be on par for what you purposed. Actual touch ups- no repainting of entire walls. But, don’t be surprised if it actually comes to that because paint doesn’t match/sheen is different. Which of course means more money.

Actually I would say that's cheap if they are re-taping or mudding joints, priming and repainting. In my house remodel we had LIGHT drywall repair- corner steel beads needed removal and replacement and then a total repaint of 1,000 sq ft including ceilings atabout $2,000- and I thought that was CHEAP.

Turned out great.

Seems reasonable to me.

Of course, the touchups should not be noticeable when completed.

To many variables here to know. What exactly is "touching up walls?" I don't see how you get by without repainting the entire wall. The vaulted ceilings is the biggest issue. I've been avoiding painting my interior because of my open entrance way. Another issue is the extent of the water damage. Will the drywall have to be replaced or can it be patched?

I’m actually not sure. His quote says repainting wall/ceiling and then mentions touch ups in other areas so I assume he’s repainting whole wall? Water damage isn’t terrible. Just water marks in a few areas. I think just needs patching/paint?

Around here I wouldn't expect any contractor to come in to do anything for less than that. The problem is the high cost of materials and labor, and most of them have more work than they can handle, so it's not worth going to do small jobs.

Yea true. Ok think it’ll be worth the investment. If it reduces chances for realtor to point out as issues may help in the selling process.
