It doesnt have to be new construction Id like to find out also with resale...

No problems here with either of my resale homes. I thought the problem here with new construction was usually the opposite - houses built too tight, without enough airflow. That's just anecdotal, though.

NJMom,
We had the same problem!
The least expensive start might be to have your ducts cleaned out. We did that and you wouldn't believe what they found in the duct system, beer and soda cans (lots of those), 2X4's, newspaper-you name it! That seemed to help the air flow. Those house builders were having a fine time building our house!!!
We eventually put in Pella windows and up graded the A/C and furnance, have no problems now. But these fixes are pretty expensive!
Good luck!!!

If you go with MI Staci I think you will be pleased. They build a well constructed house. One of mine was an MI and I loved it. After it was a few years old we had Duke Power come out and do an "energy audit" to see where we might be losing heat or cold air and to see if we could lower our bills. The guy could not find one place that needed fixing. He said it was one of the best put together houses he had seen. MI has consistently had that kind of reputation in Charlotte the whole time I have lived here
