Surprised that Eldridge Parkway has not been brought up yet. It runs from Northpointe in the Tomball area to the Fort Bend County line in Alief. If you include Belknap, it runs to the recently extended West Bellfort Avenue. There is a discontinuous section through North Sugar Land where Synott ends. The planners have never figured out where to connect the two sections across Bellfort (I've seen some scans of planning documents from the '60s that have this problem).

I forgot all about eldridge.

But why don't I hear more people talking about Main Street? Wouldn't that be the longest next to Little York?

I think Little York is the longest street in Houston that stays with one name. There are others that are longer, but they change names.
I think you're right:
Little York Road is the longest street in Houston, Texas. It runs east–west in the northern part of Harris County from Mesa Road in Houston to Fry Road in Katy. It is about 29 miles (47 km) long and is known as West Little York Road on some parts westwards.
Just 1 mile shorter than a longest street in the US.
In the U.S. the longest street is in Los Angeles, California. Figueroa Street runs for thirty miles.

So again, what about Main Street? It feels like that goes in forever from the north end to the south end.

So again, I'm going to ask,

No one thinks that Main Street from north Houston all the way to Stafford on to the edge of Sugar land could be the longest road? And an important road?

I was going to say Eldridge too. It's really long.

Hwy 6 has to be the longest. It goes from Dayton to Bayou Vista. Now that would be a day drive!

Main Street runs from E Whitney St. (up north/Independence Heights) to about Murworth Drive (south) when it becomes HWY 90 Alt and then again S Main Street till it joins Hwy90 at Sam Houston (at Beltway Plaza) and never appears as Main Street again. Pretty chopped up to small segments, though. It changes name. It's not a continuous street.

So, no - it's Little York that runs from just west of Fry rd to Mesa Dr, 29 miles, with no missing segments or name changes other than west and east.

I am going to say again - NO.

And an important road?
Define "important".
If important = busiest, then it's Westheimer Rd.

Absolutely not.

As I have already said before the most important streets are on the West/SW side
