Sounds like the system is not anti-fragile. Hopefully they install a spare set of pumps with an independent fuel/power supply.

Pretty common for the COH and other plants to have their own transformers for reliability and cost. Centerpoint is only delivering transmission to the customer.
Are you saying that they have 32 30MW generators?
That's more than 1% of the ERCOT's power capability which is about 80,000MW

The City of Houston has a 20-year, $56 million contract with NRG to have heavy-duty diesel generators at its three water purification plants.
An NRG spokesperson said at the East Water Purification Plant in the 2300 block of Federal Road, all 32 of those backup generators were “available and ready to be dispatched.”

I’m not aware of the 32 generators the city of Houston are in contract with NRG. I’m just saying the picture you posted is not a 30MW generator lol. I’m assuming WRM20(correct me if I’m wrong) is referring to the 30MW generators similar to what centerpoint is placing throughout the area.

The Generac picture in the picture is a small one, relatively. The 30MW I was referring to was a microgrid supplied by Enchanted Rock. That is actually at the Northeast purification plant, not the East plant that had the issue on Sunday.

I’m familiar with Enchanted Rock, that’s similar to the ones getting installed by centerpoint. That picture definitely ain’t 30MW.

I was thinking it might be a 25kw, if that.

Enchanted Rock is what HEB uses for their backup generators.

BTW I didn't really pay attention to the warning, drank water off the fridge filter a few times. Am I going to die?

I don't think there was ever any issue with contamination. I drank water from our fridge too.
