Let's turn every other north-south and east-west street into elevated highways with 70mph speed limits. No need for city streets actually, just make sure each house has a dedicated off-ramp.

Hell no. Don’t tear apart the city just to satisfy suburban commuters.

Shepherd itself is currently undergoing construction... I can't imagine how bad the traffic would be in that situation

The city and TXdot had already came to an agreement and were moving forward with a 10 year construction plan. So it’s not that.

Anyway, I found it funny how many people were optimistic about this plan when all parties involved finally came to an agreement. TXDOT and the city of Houston have a spotty below mediocre track record when it comes to infrastructure yet months ago posters were so sure they were gonna get this one right this time.

Now that they’re delaying this project now it’s starting to make sense for some of y’all? Lol

Their spotty record is no excuse. They are either going to do something like this, or they are going to do nothing, which isn't a real option. At the end of the day, it really seems like the state sticking it to the region for the delay as there's no reason this should take 18 years. The entire affair reeks of pettiness from both sides and does nothing to help the region. The worst manifestation of toxic politics mixed with a little incompetence on the side.

Is 3D the Pierce elevated portion of the project? If so how is anybody supposed to get excited about a project that's not going to be complete till 2038? Jesus That's the section most people agreed was the best part of this project right?

This would probably cost less and be done faster than the 10 yr plan.

Unfortunately we all live everywhere and commute all-around so part of the game.

Yes but Woodlands residents who seem so happy about the I-45 expansion weren’t so thrilled when plans for the Woodlands Pkwy expansion came through. Not so fun when a highway is going through their community I guess.
