Any info on what's going on there? I've seen about 7 houses for sale there and I'm thinking something is rotten....my daughter is looking to buy a house soon in Houston and she works on San Felipe and doesn't want a long commute out to the suburbs. She saw a house on Briar Forest Road but I noticed that there are so many for sale that sends up a red flag to me....any insight from anyone would be appreciated. Also suggestions on a neighborhood on the west side of town that would be good...Thanks!

Wish I could be more help but I live off of Briar Forest and other than too much traffic at rush hours, there is nothing going on that we as residents know of. It may be due to that however.

Many years ago in 1993 I lived on Chimney Rock and Memorial Drive across from the monastery and my best friend lived on BriarForest and Memorial. It was nice driving to her place through San Felipe it is beautiful, the trees and all of that but when you get closer to Gessner and stuff it gets ugly if that is what you are talking about there are too many shootings too much violence in the complex there and other stuff I'd rather not say, so I moved far away into a little town called Highlands,Texas (I-10 East) where everyone knows everyone and my kiddos aren't in any kind of danger.Thank God for strict schools and it is very people friendly. Have lived here 2 years.

My daughter found a house up in the Cy-Fair area and decided to join the commuters...everywhere she looked inside the loop it just seemed the crime was bad. I made the mistake of going to the Houston Police website and looked at the crime reports in just one month--June. WOW...that was eye-opening! You can definitely see the streets to stay away from. There was actually a lot of crime on Briar Forest so at that point she started looking further out.
