Freaking Texas . What kind of a sick demented idiot would want to live
here???
That's how annoying late Nov. to late Mar. is here usually...

BTW, this sick demented idiot might like living there.

October til March is the "not quite so hot" season in Houston. The first lukewarm cold front usually makes it down by the end of October, the grass doesn't need cutting quite so much, the stores are full of clothes only suitable for wearing in Canada, your air conditioner may actually stop for a few moments from time to time, office buildings start turning on the stupid heat so if you have dressed in your new fall clothes you'll melt and if we're lucky, the leaves on the pear trees around town will start turning red. I love wearing fall/winter clothes but I usually have to crank up the A/C to be able to do so. Then by sometime in January usually we start looking for our first freeze but some years (recently) it never really happens. What passes for "winter" is about 6 -8 weeks and then we crank up the A/C and settle in for another summer in Hell.

LOL!!! Redrover, so true. I love how at the beginning of August or sometimes the end of July is more like it now all you see in the stores are long sleeves, long pants and HEAVY coats. You can't find a swimsuit in August to save your life and this is the hottest month of the year. Another joke is "Back to School" clothes, LOL!!!! When you see kids going to school in August for the first day back wearing their new duds all in heavy fabrics and covered from head to toe. By the time school is out they come running out half naked. I never buy "Back to School" clothes, they can wear what they have been wearing since April unless it has been outgrown. We will wait till October to go look for long pants/jeans. Not buying them now and the kids not wear them till then and they don't fit. Whoever is the buyer for some of these stores needs to come visit and stay awhile. Then they won't be pushing heavy wools in August in our stores. We don't need heavy wools anytime of the year.

I've lived in Houston almost my entire life but the last few days that post could have been written by me. It is sooooo hot! We are looking to move north. Today I think the north pole would be a good choice!

But seriously- I LOVE LOVE LOVE Texas- I really do. But the heat is gonna kill me. I wanted to cry when my husband said he couldn't wait for our 6month old son to start T-ball. The thought of sitting outside- no matter what the time of day- for a summer T-ball game makes me really want to cry.

I dont feel warm in the shade or indoors unless it's at least 75 F. I've never been to Houston, but it sounds like I might like the weather. Maybe someday I'll come for a visit.
