How so? Nothing disparaging was said regarding Mr. Curtis. Clearly, he's a good at marketing.

The real question would be what do you, having lived here a very short time, know of him that you hold him in such high esteem? What does he think of your modern, not yet seen in the area, style?

To each his own...

Something about the Collins appears cold and uninviting to me.

Being across the street from Crime Village sure doesn't help. That explains the statement that "90% of people living in this apartment complex are not natives to this area."

IMHO, the Legacy at Jones Farm looks much nicer and is in a much better location to name just one.

Anybody who strives for excellence and attempts to be different from the herd is seen as an "opportunist" or a "carpetbagger"-or if they are trying to "beat the system" somehow-just like when I was referring to introducing a more modern style of housing to this area- "It is never gonna work", "You are gonna lose money".

I hope this "crabs in the bucket" mentality becomes a thing of the past in the area soon.
lol

Clearly anyone with a billboard is an expert.

Nah, OP is just trying to sound smart but completely failing. Sort of like how he misinterpreted what his professor at UAH just taught about root cause analysis.

The "Crime Village" that you speak of isn't there anymore. You are talking about the former Rhime Village Apartments. They were purchased by an out of town investor, several million were spent in upgrades which included custom cabinets, granite counter tops, etc. and were renamed The Reserve at Research Park. At the present time, a 510 sq. ft. Studio apartment rents from $1,155 a month and a three bedroom for almost $1,700 (which is more than a lot of home mortgages). It is not what I would consider a "Crime Village".

In the big picture, The Collins is a lot better location as it sits at the door step to Cummings Research Park and is a couple of miles from the entrance to Redstone Arsenal, so there is proximity to the area's biggest employment centers. In addition, the University Drive corridor has far more restaurants and retail than Jones Valley. There are other nearby destinations like Mid City, The Orion, Bridge Street and Toyota Filed. So, for a young professional, The Collins is an attractive place to live.

The Legacy at Jones Farm is more attractive to Huntsville natives who want to be in the Southeast (for schools and prestige) and it is a more scenic location with nearby hilking trails.

As long as Rime Village Drive exist so will the stigma.

Not everyone wants to live a couple of miles from CRP or Gate 9.

I've met young professionals that chose to live in Legacy at Jones Farm and over the mountain in Big Cove because it is a much more scenic location.

Being only a few minutes from Parkway Place, Merchants Walk, and Downtown Huntsville makes your restaurants and retail comment debatable.

Not to mention all the revitalization and development currently going on in the Southeast.

OP is delivering some surprising unintentional comedy.

Does he really believe he can see trends that nobody else can? lmao. The Dunning-Kruger is strong in this one!

Thanks for adding some helpful insight. It seems like a lot of people here dont even leave their homes or travel much outside of their immediate neighborhoods.

Some of the information I get from some of the regulars here is 5 years outdated.

I don't experience the same vibe wrt The Collins but I do with some of the other recent apartment developments; Mosby at Bridge St and The Station at Cliff Farm to name two. Perhaps its the lack of greenery (trees and other landscaping) due to the new construction and whereas I'm allowing the trees lining Enterprise Way to give me a false sense of landscaping for those apartments. Is the Legacy at Jones Farm more incorporated into the natural surroundings?

I recall referencing Rime Village as 'Crime Village' too. My apartment life was not at Rime but I do recall being warned to lock my car doors when playing sand volleyball on the weekend. This was back in the early-mid 90's.
