When I first moved here, Madison County was the state's largest cotton producer. That's no longer the case.

And Alabama is the 3rd largest chicken “producer” with over 21 million “processed” every week.

Based on some quick Internet research, it looks like Madison County has a lot of loamy soil. That is ideal for cotton.

I believe Limestone County has been the largest producer of cotton recently. Wouldn’t surprise me if that should change with all the recent development in Limestone County.

Our business has been surrounded by cotton fields for decades. The last few years, the same fields have been used for soybeans, corn, and hay. I was pleased that this year, our farmer elected to grow cotton again. The plants were shorter than usual thanks to the earlier drought, but were quite prolific with product when harvested.
