Empty nester now and have lived in Huntsville both east and west - looking to downsize and found a nice peaceful property off Moore's Mill Road - not far from Moore's Mill. I absolutely love the property but I've not really spent any time in the area.

How do people like living up there? I hadn't previously considered living out of the city as most people I know that do have quite a schlep and still live in a subsdivision that looks like any other. This property however has some charm and isolation unlike any I've seen in the city, and the commute downtown where I work looks no worse than my current one - 15-20 minutes.

Mostly interested in insights about safety, traffic, trash and utilitiy services (how's your experience with AT&T internet - looks like the property I am looking at has access to fiber), is that Kroger on Moore's Mill a good place to shop - any go-to restaurants for quick casual bite or takeout you recommend. Also if there are any recommended nice places to walk or hike nearby (not seeing anything obvious but sometimes there are hidden gems).

It’s a great area, anything you need is on Winchester rd. Downtown is 10 minutes away. Chapman nature preserve is 5 minutes. How old are u if u don’t mind me asking.
Kroger. Publix, Aldi, Walmart all within 10 minutes.

I'm in my late 40s, why do you ask?

Everything looks great but gosh the sex offender map alarmingly crowded there. What's up with that? :/

i haven't ever looked at that. The area has a lot of older middle age residents, but lots of younger families moving in also.

I don't live up there, but have looked at that area often for when we make the move to downsize.

IMHO, the area between Moore's Mill, Maysville, and New Market looks very attractive.

Years ago I pulled up the sex offender map for the Harvest area and about had a heart attack.

Flood zones and potential sinkholes is very important data points to also consider.
