Colotl, whose parents brought her to the United States illegally when she was 11 years old, was threatened with deportation in 2010. Then a student at an Atlanta area college, she was arrested for driving without a license after an on-campus traffic stop and sent to an Alabama detention center for the undocumented. Her deportation was halted only after supporters, including the president of the university she attended, intervened.

CURRENT DEPORTATION POLICY IS IMPOLITIC AND INHUMANE

Ms Tucker: please worry about Americans who are hurting, especially "Black" people who are losing out to illegal aliens.

This article was one of the most irksome I have read defending illegal aliens. She was working as a legal assistant, driving without a license and the president of the University went to bat for her? Isn't that aiding and abetting? And WTH does the word "impolitic" mean? Inhumane? How about Americans? Are they being treated humanely by massive illegal immigration and its negative impact on them?

I guess we will just have to close the border until we can come up with a better plan.

No need to close the border. There will always be legal ports of entry.

They do need to do something about those who get visas including the very cheap border crossing card visas and then abuse them. Some come here using those visas with no intention of obeying the terms of them. Then they will claim they aren't really here illegally because they had a border crossing card and came in through a legal port of entry.

This article is so infuriating!

So much of it is just BS. Like this, for example:

While the president has worked hard to get a reluctant Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform

Yeah, sure he has "worked hard". During the first 2 years of his first term, he had a majority democrat house and senate. He could have rammed this through and crammed it down our throats. Yet he did nothing. Why is that? After all, this is the same president who dictated work permits and amnesty (of sorts) for "young illegals".

I love the talk about his draconian deportations. Oh please! If anything, he is giving illegal aliens a free pass!

It is really sad Americans have jumped through every hoop imaginable to treat Mexicans as equals. Mexico is a lawless 3rd world country and should be treated as such.

Mexicans also enjoy the highest quotas for legal immigration into our country and that doesn't even count the family reunifications so I don't know what their beef is.

We are headed toward a major internal conflict. Too many places in America are becoming 99% to 100% Mexican. There is no assimilation. Whites will not choose to live in areas where Spanish is the primary language.

If here legally and they respect our right to enforce our immigration laws and are assimilating I have no problem with them. It's not only whites but blacks and Asians that don't speak Spanish either usually. There shouldn't be a communication problem if those Spanish speakers also know English. There are many towns here that are flooded with illegal aliens however and you rarely hear English being spoken so I can understand how a native English speaker would feel out of place. You really can't tell though who is legal and who isn't.
