Still no title for the van and no call back from the local BMV Branch. what I want to know is this: with all the employees they have working in the BMV, how could they be so unproductive?

It can't possibly be a manpower problem but more a management problem.

I think it's more of a make everyone wait and get more money because of late fees and everything else. Isn't it great.

No it's not great. We could have gotten a title from Iraq or Syria quicker.

Have to call the gal at the local license branch in Lafayette again. Two days ago she promised to have the title immediately shipped from BMV Indy to her office and that she would phone us as soon as it arrived. Yeah right.

Maybe they are having a work slowdown at the BMV in order to try to get pay increases, enhanced benefits, a 35 hour work week like the French, more vacation/sick pay time, and bonuses for increased production.

I know it's not great hence the rolly eyes smilies. I'm just saying that, the longer they make everyone wait the more fees they can through on you for not getting your plates on time, and then that also means the police can pull you over for outdated tags. The state must be working with law enforcement to annoy the bajeebers outta everyone.

I still think this is a ploy for the administration to justify privatizing the BMV.
now I am amenable to the Governor selling the BMV to the Chinese because I know that they would operate it much more efficiently and also provide speedy titles for an extra $25.

The Chinese have a work and service ethic.

LOLL!!!!! Just don't try to call them if you have a problem! It's like Dell tech support, if they don't have your question on their list, good luck to ya!

But I hope the best for your misadventure in BMV land!

with Chinese personnel manning the BMV, I can at least haggle over fees. When they say it will be $25 for speedy title in 3 days, I'll offer them $7.

Any news on the tags? This makes me worry if I send in for them, how long will I have to wait.

An Update on the situation with trying to get a Speedy Title out of the BMV:

It is April 10th and still no title after waiting for over 4 weeks. it will be 5 weeks in another day. We may have to just smash the vehicle, compact it and drop it off in front of the Governor's home on tax day with a little note attached to it stating "You failed us again and can't use this hunk of a vehicle for business."
