Yes ,positively sure. I caught one last year in baton rouge. If you google Mississippi snake species a listing will come up. I believe it's called one-piece.off it has a listing of most MS. Snake species. I appreciate your insight. Although they are generally not as prevalent as water moccasins(I've caught 32 this year) I know they are around. I may jus have to search a little better. But Thanks again for your comment.

I'm not seeing it.

I do agree with you that rattlers and copperheads do exist in Mississippi. It's also very possible I've literally stepped over one or the other multiple times. But in my area near the Big Black River Swamp you could find a water moccasin at every other creek bend. Also lots and lots and lots of water snakes.

As a youth I was told that a common Northern Water Snake was a Copperhead, and regretfully I am guilty of dispatching dozens of innocent non-venomous snakes because of mistaken identity. I know better now.
