I have a 2007 that is in good condition. I just don't need it anymore, as I have bought a new one. Does anyone know of any used car lots in Jax that will buy it for a pretty decent price? I've heard that places like CarMax will give you just about nothing and then the other option is selling privately, like on Craigslist. While privately is a viable option, it's also not the safest sometimes, and I feel slightly uneasy about going that route. I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with this and has any advice that might be able to share.

I have sold 3 used cars (5 - 8 yrs old) that were in excellent condition to Carmax in JAX and have felt that I was given a fair price for the cars. I like that you walk away with a check that day and you are done.

I'd say go in with Edmund's TMV in hand and expect the Trade-In value. Although, after seeing the trade in and private party values next to each other you might reconsider selling it yourself. I just bought a used car and traded in my old one and without giving too much ground we ended up at almost exactly the Dealer Retail - Trade In TMVs.
