My husband, daughter who is one year old, and myself will be camping at Watauga Lake, then staying somewhere near Johnson City (we don't have a hotel yet), then camping in Cosby, and then staying in or near Knoxville (again no hotel yet). The entire trip is from Raleigh to Nashville, spending next week in East Tennessee. I would love to know some good easy hikes or walks to local swimming holes as it is summer time! Any other tips, advice, or things to check out would be greatly appreciated too! I'm very excited to see this part of our country!

If you're already at Watauga Lake, one of the best swimming spots in the area is the Shook Branch Swimming Area a bit past Hampton. That would definitely be on my list.
