Hi, my name is Sylvia I live in TX, I am 25 years old. I feel i understand what you are saying about making friend or meeting people just to chat with, here in TX, it seems since I started school I have not had time to make new friends. I would like to be friend and chat, if you would like.

Hi kdweller,
I am having the same problem. I moved to Knoxville 4 months ago and I still feel like I moved here yesterday. I have tried some churches but haven't found one yet that I felt was a fit. It is really hard to go places other than church and shopping by yourself. I currently am trying to find a hiking group that I can join. I'm also looking for a place for 50's plus to go dancing without feeling that I'm in a meat market.

Good luck...

I am not involved at all in square dancing, but I know some women I have spoken to really enjoyed square dancing in town. I know there is (or was) sq. dancing place in Knoxville.

Here's one of the local organizations.

I haven't done square dancing either. Usually you have to have a partner. I prefer free style to either country or light rock. I have done a little line dancing but not much.

I got the idea they showed up without a partner, but I could be wrong.
