I lived in Providence (89149) for about a year (2018-2019), it's a nice area. When I lived up there, traffic was a lot less than where I am now, 89052.

The issue for me was, there were not a lot of restaurants up there. Maybe that has changed. It's a bit of a drive down to Summerlin or The Strip if that matters to you.
(In red above): That's what we have found living in the 89002 zip code. We live just off of Nevada Street, right across from a bread making company. IOW, just north of Railroad Pass Truck Stop/Casino/Hotel/Holiday Inn Express. Not much here, but is a very safe area. But noise from helicopters and airlines flying out of Vegas is pretty much a day/night thing.

Please don't let this scare you and your family from moving to Las Vegas, but, you do know how much the entire area of Henderson/Vegas metro is growing, right? A new "speed" train (Brightline) is being built to go from Rancho Cucamonga, CA to Las Vegas. And, on top of that, Las Vegas has plans in the works to build an additional International Airport in-between the towns of Jean and Primm. And, it will be a huge airport.

We, as older seniors, won't be here, but wanted to let you know.

Crime in Las Vegas
Also using spotcrime app you can plug in a specific address and see crime around there. Crimemapping is also a good one.
I used that map in 2011 when I was looking for a house. Ended up in 89117 and love it.
