But they ARE here only to adjust their status and get their green card.

In other words, your mother is here on a temporary visa ... but really she came intending to stay, i.e. to IMMIGRATE? Violating the terms of the paperwork she came here on?

Well, ringler (post #29) wrote that it was easy to change the status even when the person has ILLEGALLY overstayed her visa. Never came back to explain how that worked or was OK.

Certainly these posts don't belong in this LEGAL IMMIGRATION forum.
