This is a great thread. My partner and I are looking into moving up to the Lehigh valley from South Florida. I miss it so much up there....these pictures are great I can't wait to get back up there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i lived at 4th and hamilton near downtown a-town and worked at WAEB radio. i loved it there. thanks for the pics! my daughter was born there 17 yrs ago.

Smile These were taken in Allentown PA. in late 2008

These were taken in Allentown PA. in late 2008. I took them all I have some of the covered bridges in the area I will try to find them for you.

I would love to encourage you to move here or return, but that would not be true.

Crime is off the scales, we now have the Bloods, Crips and Latin Kings living here. We have nightly armed robberies, hit and runs of cars multiple times a day and gun shots have been heard from our supper table.

So sad to hear this about such a great and beautiful city. Once the gangs move in enforce, it's downhill for the rest of the area. But there have been cities that have been cleaned up...gangs tossed out...you just have to talk to your local officials...unfortunately, with the economy the way it is...everyone's attention is elsewhere and safety issues and driving down the crime tend to take a back seat.

What you said just about breaks my heart...I love all of the Lehigh Valley, inc Allentown...I miss it dearly.
