Why on Earth is that so stunning? The Clintons are Democrats and Arkansas---especially in this day and age of Donald Trump Republican politics---is one of the reddest states in America.

Also, keep in mind that The Clintons have been out of local Arkansas politics for going on 30 years at this point. That's an entire generation ago. So it's not weird or "stunning" at all that many people you mention the Clintons to in Arkansas almost 30 years after they left Arkansas politics wouldn't be dying to talk about them and wouldn't automatically sing their praises.

Sounds about like his presidency as well. Sometimes it seemed as though Bill was popular in spite of Hillary.

I think most people, even Arkansans, are a little tired of hearing of the Clintons. It's one of the few things people outside the state know about Arkansas so we all get asked about them quite a bit. Ready for new names in politics.

+1
I've always had a soft spot for W but his library stinks. Clinton's is first rate, as is LBJ's.

We have never been to the library but have heard it is pretty crappy compared to most presidentual libraries. Other than that, what people thought of them in the 90s and what they think now is very different. A state that was once pretty solid Blue is now almost 100% red. I have heard from a few people living here who have been part of the AR scene for years, he was, like most governors and even presidents accepted and liked even by some who didn't like his politics. As for Hillary she has never been the post popular girl on the street.

Only been to LBJ 's and that was a long time ago. Was in Dallas last fall but no time to visit GWB's . I would really like to visit Reagan's as IMHO, the best president in my lifetime.

Whether the best of the worst President in our lives, Reagan library is a true work of art. The location alone makes it stand out in the minds of most. If you even get a chance, be sure to visit it. This goes for anyone visiting So CA for more than a few days. It should be on your "to do" list while in the L.A. area.

Bill is still pretty popular here. Hillary isn't. Honestly, she never really was.
