It’s posted I saw my old house. Thank goodness I moved my old 1800 sq ft 1950s split in 5 years will be 22-23k maybe a hair Moore. I’m paying 16,100 for 3100 sq ft new construction 4 miles down the road in Suffolk. Absolute joke the Nassau reassment.
That 5 year number under exemptions isn't what the actual increase will be. Because everyone got a phase in at the same time the tax rate is very high, as everyone phases in over the next several years the rate will go down. Once again nassau makes things extremely confusing.
I called TOH today asking that same question. They don't know when you will be able to pay your bill online. He did say that you can see the amount you will be billed on mynassauproperty.com.
My school taxes went from $7000 last year to $7800 for this upcoming year.
yeah mine went up about 500. less than i expected honestly.
So is there any mathematical way to figure it out? If the exemption says it's about $9500, do we assume it's XX% of that number? Or is there no real way to figure it out?
The five year phase in gives serial grievers a few more years of tax breaks. During that time folks who never grieved are not going to see much of a break.
To add insult to injury, some folks did not grieve in January 2019 as we heard from Curran no more rubber stamping grievances. Yet they did award some reductions and to some who were serial grievers.
in new bill very interesting you can see how much of your assessed value does not count as a result of phase in if you won a few grievances. Folks who never grieved are basically seeing zero cut as we are subsidizing others under the five year phase in.

I'm aware, they don't have the 5 year #, they just posted what the taxes should be as its 100 exempt. This property was bound to go up. We sold it for more than double the market value. Prior 2 owners grieved for over 20 years. Way before Mangano this property was being grieved. Tiny ranches with no basements and lots 30% smaller paid way more. Reassement was one of the top 5 reasons we moved, I knew the huge tax hike was coming, got out 2 years in advance. Airplane and speeding cars was probably #1.

Yeah if you successfully grieved for 20 years you are likely to get smacked unfortunately.
