4th of July Fireworks - Mid to East End? (Greenport: getaway, shelter)

I'm traveling down to LI for an event in early July, so we wanted to stay somewhere toward the east end on July 4 to see fireworks. I'm kind of envisioning a town by the water that we can walk around in, maybe some outdoor dining, and see fireworks later that night. (Port Jeff is out, for reasons).

Is there anywhere that pretty consistently has a fireworks display on the 4th? I'm having trouble nailing down which town to look for lodging in. Thank you.

Greenport and Shelter Island both hold fireworks events. The dates will vary depending on when the 4th falls. Weather providing of course or they reschedule.
