Default i am from long beach going to austin --maybe

Let's share information.

I just left Long Beach about a month ago.

I had lived there from 1987 until last month.

I will be happy to tell you all about Long Beach.

Currently, I am staying with family near Cleburne, but I am very curious about Austin.

I may want to settle there.

Bump. I'm moving from Austin to Long Beach as well, but for my girlfriend. I know Long Beach pales in comparison because I have been there a few times already and the only relief I found was flying back from there. It wasn't just Long Beach though, it was all of LA. Anyways, these posts are 6 years old. Has much changed since then? There are still gangs there, I know, but what about the infrastructure of the city?

Safe areas? Are they still safe?

Cost of living?

I'm 29 years old and an electrical engineer. How is the job market, specifically for engineers, looking like in the area?

I want to move to Long Beach and yes stay away from the Northern part. But they have nice neighborhoods but housing costs is crazy expensive now. Check agents in the area they will help you navigate the area. I heard Austin is getting crazy expensive and traffic is horrible.

Get a real estate agent to help you navigate the area- like most things is not as bad or good most people say it is.

Ditto the above. Get an agent who really KNOWS the area. There are some great areas and some not so great.

Some gang activity, even in safer places like Lakewood have some HARDCORE gangs. But there's tons of nice places too. Just do your homework and don't join a gang and you should be okay!
