The Queen Mary partially reopened to the public today after being closed to the public since March 2020 due to COVID-19 and repairs required due to the structural condition of the ship. Only tours are avaliable at the moment, but the hotel and restaurants are due to reopen early next year. This is some good news for an attraction that has been shut down for a while. https://abc7.com/queen-mary-long-bea...ning/12575720/

That is welcome news. I recall visiting that attraction when we lived in Southern California in the ‘80’s. I had no idea it was closed during Covid. We attended a festive holiday party there at the restaurant/ballroom one year and had an enjoyable, memorable time.

I am really glad the are reopening. I completely understand why they closed during covid and support that decision, but when I heard they shutter her and/or possibly lose her I was really sad about that. First time I saw the Queen Mary during an elementary school field trip. They gave us a tour and we had lunch there it was great. Almost each year in elementary school we'd go on a trip there.

My parents took me there as a child sometimes throughout the 80s & we liked walking around there. I also walked the ship as an adult once, maybe twice. I really just walk or bike around the Shorline Vlg area these days. Pre-COVID, I was looking into going to their brunch buffet one weekend for the first time, but didn't end up doing it. So they've been closed almost 3 yrs...never knew that either.

Well, since I haven't dined in anywhere since COVID started, I don't know if I'll start now w/ this place.

Love the Queen Mary. We went to a party there a few years ago and then the following year spent the night on the ship. It was a really neat experience. I felt like I was on the Titanic. My daughter's family has also stayed there.

Wasn't that in danger of sinking or was that brought up for restoration/repair funding?

The Queen Mary will be reopening to tours on April 1 and hotel stays will resume May 12. The ship reopened to limited public tours in December 2022 that lasted until January this year after being closed since March 2020. This was due to the COVID-19 pandemic and critical repairs that were needed to keep the ship afloat. This certainly some good news here. https://lbpost.com/news/queen-mary-t...ms-open-in-may

Can't wait for Sir Winston's restaurant to open again. I want to dine there before I leave this world.

Lol, we've been trying to decide on a nice steakhouse to go to (we don't go that often). Someone recommended Sir Winston's, so we've been waiting for it to reopen again, too.

Lol, it does kinda feel like that. It's just a really nice experience. I've always wanted to stay overnight, but we just haven't done it yet.

Looking foward to going again.
