Help me decide on a school for my young kids. I was raised in a small farm town in west tx (1500 population) . I loved it but also knew everyone because my grandparents were also raised there and so on.....

Cooper is a fast growing district, with a great many opportunities there for your student. New Home is much smaller, really a very tiny town that might not be as accepting as you would like. New Home is full of great folks, but there is very little to do for kids that aren't a part of farming families.

New Home has a decent school from what I understand, but my impression of the town is that it's mostly somewhat well-off farmers whose kids are big into FFA and might be hard to fit in if you don't fit that demographic. Cooper used to be the same, but now it's mostly just a suburban school district. I'd personally suggest Cooper.

Both are great schools and I have had experience with Cooper School district so I know a little bit about it. Cooper seems to have really great teachers and keeps you updated on your child's progress. The one thing I know compared to several states I have lived in and in areas of Texas I have lived in Cooper administration and teachers seem to keep you updated on your child's progress. I loved this about Cooper schools.
