My husband has agreed to move back to west Texas if I can find a job for him in the oil/gas industry for minimum 70k a year . He's searched endlessly and cannot find anything . He has 15 years experience in oil and natural gas as a field tech and sales. Any ideas on specific companies to check . Thanks!

This is a bad time to be looking for any jobs in oil and gas, anywhere, but especially in Texas. Due to the downturn this past year in oil and gas prices, there have been massive layoffs and the market is saturated with local folks who are out of a job and looking for work.

Good luck. Things do seem to be picking back up but slowly.

I did hear that Halliburton is starting to hire again.

Give it another year or two and maybe by then it'll start coming back. I am about to willfully get out of things here because they have gotten pretty frustrating.

They are. I've been seeing their crappy drivers clogging the highways again, f'ing up while driving by violating other peoples' right-of-way, and are back to their old stop sign running ways.

Oil prices dropped again this week. Sorry, I'm hearing of very little hiring in the oil fields.

I'm sorry you're having a bad day. I doubt that this is Halliburton's fault though.

I'm not sure what this will do for oil jobs in Texas but:
