Not sure if it's okay to post this link to the photos, but I found this interesting and thought others might enjoy the photos also.
(I think my house is in the potato house photo..)

great photos, thanks for posting,
i like the old store fronts too- maine has one store which has the national distinction of having the oldest(grocery) store within the same family-since the 1820's (Frisbee's in kittery point)

Such different times and most enjoyable to have a look at. It's those everyday faces that I find fascinating. Thanks for such a great link, maineguy !

Beautiful photos! Everyone looks so alive- not attached to cell phones for talking or texting. Notice the absence of earbuds! Imagine, a world where people actually talk to one another!

I sent the one of the two boys in straw hats fishing to my youngest son.....he is a big fan of Huck Finn.....collects old copies and quotes extensively from the book.....The picture looks so much like Tom and Huck.....amazing shot.

The quality of each of the photo's is amazing....I have been putting them on my "background" and they look like works of art....I agree the faces.....and the honesty of labor....and the humble backdrops are inspiring. The picture of the homestead in the wilderness with the house, shed and outhouse....standing against the elements with the big sky .... it is a story in and of itself.

I really enjoyed looking through all of those.... thank you for sharing the link. And square peg and moughie, I agree--every day faces living life, not through technology, but through tangible experience.

Not only were the photos amazing, but the discussion attached was nice to read too. I have to agree the identifying of the 'non caucasion' as African Americans was going too far. The struggle needs to be reflected in our language and proper respect given. To be too PC is a slap in the face of all who suffered because of inequality.
