I am seeking recommendations for a primary care physician for my husband. My husband's doctor retired a few years ago, and he does not like the new doctor assigned to him. A bit about my husband's preferences:
* He prefers a male doctor.
* My husband hates going to the doctor, and he will find any excuse not go.
* He thinks his new doctor is too touchy feely and "asks too many questions". He preferred his old doctor because he was "old school", did not engage in much chit chat, and did not try to be his friend.
* He is a former athlete with some chronic injuries. A doctor that is knowledgeable about those issues would be a plus, but it's not required.

Does anyone have recommendations for a doctor in the Acton area that might be a fit? Thanks.

Years ago I used to go to Peter DeMartino at Acton Medical Associates. He has a special interest in sports related injuries. I don't remember anything about him personally, so maybe that's a good sign that he doesn't chat a lot. I don't recall anything about the office either (whether it has updated facilities, wait times, customer service, etc..) so you'll have to check reviews or ask around to see if the medical office is good.

For sports related injuries I feel the doctor HAS to ask a lot of questions in order to determine the cause of pain, develop a treatment plan, etc.

Parsec,
Thanks for the recommendation. I'm familiar with the Acton Medical facilities. I'll look into Dr. DeMartino.

Mordi,
Yes, my husband hates going to the doctor in general, but he and his current doctor are just not good fits personality-wise.

I second Acton Medical Associates, great doctors and facilities in Acton, Littleton and Harvard!
