Update: Here's the conversation I had with Advantage hen picking up my car (Dodge Jounry all wheel drive)

Me: Soo. .. We want to drive all the way around the Hana Hwy including the back side. Am I allowed in this rental car.

Rep: Well, I'm supposed to tell you that you cannot drive the short stretch passed Hana as shown in our maps. That's what I'm supposed to tell you *wink*

Me: Got it. *wink*

So we did the full trip yesterday and I'm glad we did because personally I enjoyed that part much more than the hwy to Hanna. The open scenery and hugging the coast was amazing the road was bumpy the firt few miles but our all wheel drive gave us a nice ride. I have to admit, getting the Road yo Hanna Companion CDs were a big help. I had two of them. One from the Sandwich sho on Paia and one from the ABC stores. Both have similar narritives but each have some tips yhat the other one does not.

We have done the Pacific Coast Highway drive from LA to Montery in California. That drive was probably more demaning (for me) than the entire round trip of the road to Hana.

I know you didn't name names, but you named the company and I hope you just didn't get someone in trouble with "corporate". Maybe you could edit it to be more vague.

If you want to take chances, fine. However, if anything happened to the car, what is in the rental agreement is what will hold up and not the wink from a minimum wage bad employee.

Did you read the rental agreement? Do you know what is in the contract you signed?
