My wife and I have been self employed for a while and I would like to start supplementing our income.

I have a bachelor's degree in sociology, which doesn't mean much. I see jobs advertised out there, but I'm just wondering which ones are more likely to hire more quickly.

I'm not picky. If you can just throw some ideas out there I'd greatly appreciate it!

Aloha

It depends on your desired goal.
Are you wanting/needing to pay off debt?
Are you wanting/needing to get savings started or added to?
Do you want it to lead into full time permanent employment?

Yes. I'm looking long-term so I would like it to lead to full-time/permanent employment.

I have no debt and adding to our savings is our plan.

A quick start this time of year is seasonal retail sales or pizza delivery.

The reason I suggest these two is because many companies will not be hiring permanent positions this time of year.
Then after the holidays and into the new year look at a community college if you have one close for sociology or political science instructor. Obviously you would have to have or be able to get the proper credentials.

Cleaning houses is worth quite a bit per hour and you can schedule as much or as little as you like. Folks also like heavy cleaners to wash walls and windows, so you could charge more - probably around $20 per hour - if you did windows and walls.

Great ideas. I'll look into those for sure.

I landed an interview with a zipline company. I've always like the idea of a physical job. Let's see how it goes.

I'll look into that too. Thanks. I know hotels always have positions open. Just not sure which ones are easier to get into.

I always suggest you obtain employment with a hotel in your area that has a presence in Hawaii. Hotels, like many corporations hire from within where they can easily see your job performance records.
