Moving to Maui in a couple of months. Debating on a cell phone carrier. My carrier shares networks with Verizon, but I can't get in store service there. Any recommendations on who has the best coverage on the island? Any travelers who go to Australia, Indonesia, Asia, etc. with advice on a service that works in both places?
Thanks!

All of the major carriers do quite well on Maui. It is a small island. I would worry more about the coverage you desire in the other countries.

The general consensus is that Verizon has the best coverage on Maui. It is a small island, but there are lots of nooks and crannies where coverage can be spotty.

I have Verizon and have been on the Big Island, Maui, Oahu, and Kauai. I never had any problem with coverage except around the volcano.

There were no helpful replies since 2010. Any 2015 updates on Maui's cellular coverage?

Probably still Verizon, although I have spotty coverage when I'm in concrete buildings, and people with the same phone, but on AT&T don't have that issue I've noticed.

My wife and I had perfect service when we visited. Verizon is my provider. I plan on keeping their service when we move there next year. Hope that helps.

I have found that BOTH Verizon and ATT work here...however depending on WHERE you live on island one may work a bit better than the other. In Pukalani, AT&T worked better. In Haiku, Verizon worked better. Thankfully we are now 'in town' in Wailuku and have no issues with EITHER and both work well.

Verizon, at least if your North Shore/Up Country. Just switched from ATT because we had very little service at our house in Haiku. Most providers work well in Lahaina/Kehei though.
