I just saw an excellent report on the border crisis from, of all places, CNN. The new head honchos look like they mean it when they say they want to focus on the news.
This report concerned all the people who were dying trying to cross the border, either drowning while trying to cross the river or succumbing to dehydration or the elements. They interviewed the medical doctor in charge of the morgue and bodies are just piling up trying to find next of kin. She said it’s impossible to ID these people when they come from countries that we don’t have good relations with, such as Cuba and Venezuela.
So they eventually wind up buried, as John or Jane Does, with only a PVC cross marking their graves. It really made you think that these politicians who are so pro illegal immigrants don’t really care about these people, no matter how much they moan about being compassionate.
We need to stop this insanity—it’s not safe for these people, and it’s not safe for us to allow our country to be invaded in this way.
I didn't discuss any policy. I'm simply noting that there have been serious discussions in the past and also noting that GOP isn't interested in policy anymore. You keep demonstrating that. Not once have you countered with any serious solution (or one at all).
1. we have a set of laws.
2. Trump and the Republicans tried to give the DACA's a path while increasing border security, largely through a wall where warranted.
3. Between Trump & the Dems,#2 failed. Various R's have also offered legislation enhancing/expanding e-Verify, so the excuse of "they only come here for work" and "they do jobs Americans won't do" fades away.
yet, here we are. With an Administration that simply and clearly refuses to actually enforce the existing laws of the country they're sworn to uphold.
Yeah, how dare me want good faith policy discussion.
Oof.
there are numerous topics on this specific subforum that you're welcome to look into some "good faith policy discussions".
Or, if you'd like, use this topic to provide your "good faith policy" ideas.
The immigration laws of the US say X. Until such time as those laws are changed, it is the job of DHS and the POTUS (and others) to enforce those laws.
I didn't say that I was proposing a policy. What a strange straw man. Once again, you go out of your way to be non serious.
