I’m not trying to be disrespectful, but I am truly interested in hearing from the democrat side how and why this would be acceptable for Fetterman or any other elected official, Republican or Democrat, in his current medical condition, be an effective leader, not only for Pennsylvania, but for the entire nation. Have we, the American people, no longer care about performance and an individual’s qualifications for anybody that can affect national policies or have any serious input or say if we should go to war?

What I've seen time and time again from the right is this very simple one size must fit all narrative. Fetterman had a stroke, therefore he can't function as a Senator.
Wrong. Fetterman has aphasia. What that means is the thought process is still there but the brain has a hard time putting it into words. This condition can fix itself spontaneously, or may need speech therapy.
Well you won't be hearing from a Democrat side, I'm an Independent. I was also in the medical field for 25 years and have seen strokes go from catastrophic events to minor events with set backs. I had a friend that had 2 strokes and a couple of heart attacks. To talk to him you wouldn't know it. He wouldn't stop smoking and he passed last March at 67.
Fetterman can improve. He's not a single vote, but rather a cog in the wheel. We had a president with dementia (Reagan). That's far more serious than Fetterman. Is it a concern? Most definitely. Should it be a determining factor? No. As I pointed out, we have had a couple of senators with concerning events return to work and work effectively. Look at Scallise. He was shot and on life support, yet he recovered and is back at work. I had another friend that was on life support and dialysis. I looked at the settings on her ventilator and thought she wasn't going to make it off. Not only did she make, she went back to work a nurse, a far more serious job than senator. She is still working at 70.
Yep the word stroke is scary, especially when it's weaponized and blown up out of proportions and used to try and defeat an opponent.
For someone like me who has seen far worse? Meh. He will most likely recover his speech. It was just bad timing.
