Criticize your employer in public and you get what you deserve. However, that's not why he was suspended; he violated company policy of publishing freelance articles without permission.
The name of his employer is NATIONAL Public Radio—not Liberal Public Radio. NPR is financed with our taxes—that includes Republicans and Independents too. It should provide diversity of views—that’s what makes this country great.
This editor exposed NPR for the hack organization it is, and since this country is a few trillion in debt, we need to start cutting costs and one line item to eliminate is NPR funding. The guy is a hero. He spoke the truth. He is a whistleblower, showing how corrupt his employer is—just like the Boeing employees testifying before Congress right now.
PS: and if he wrote an article for Better Homes & Gardens giving decorating tips, no way would he have been suspended.
