I know someone who does it. It is just another facet in the lives of those that escape using a variety of different mechanisms. It is like anything else in that you cross the line when it is in excess.
I think fantasizing can be a healthy thing...I'd bet my bottom doller that everyone has a one time or another.....I wouldn't consider it to have anything to do with "delusions of grandeur" stepka...that's totally different......like the article said...as long as it doesn't interfere with your day to day life...I can't see that there's any harm in it.
You describe just about anyone who's every written a story and keeps writing. See a person, a building, get fascinated by an idea and a world builds around it. It becomes peopled and full and in its own way is quite real. I feel like mine are just off to the side, and the characters are not entirely under my control.
There is no one way we have to see the world. If we were all psi's and shared thoughts suddenly, but didn't know who they came from, I bet we'd never guess because our outer mask keeps safe the private places that are our own.
