This has been a fairly common issue I have dealt with for the last few years. I do have anxiety, so maybe its tied into that. I will be speaking and I will use the wrong words (jumbling my sentence), forgetting names of places ("you know, we had the chicken and steak there") or just blanking out trying to find a word. I wouldn't say that I am 100% like this, maybe only 10% of the time, but I find it annoying. I can see people just staring at me, waiting for me to "spit it out". It seems like the world just stops at that point.
Is this common? Like I've said, I have had this for many years, and it has improved with time. I remember it was pretty bad at 17 years old with my first job. I do work in a call center, where I speak most of the day, maybe that has something to do with it as well?
Maybe you have a lot on your mind...I don't think is amnesia really but check out with a specialist. But yes one of the things with anxiety and depression is often forgetting words and names.
Thank you for your response... could be! This morning when heading to work we had a water leak in the apartment. I said to my gf "hey can you call the office it might quicker...it might BE quicker then sending something online".
Just little things like that, but there is an example for you.
I'm 29 and am the same way at times. I think it's from not getting enough sleep at night. I can be really moody in the mornings and I do not function well without sleep but I have a bad habit of staying up late.
Do you cut your hair? That might be the problem. I read somewhere hair acts as some type of extension of the nervous system. It acts as an antennae of some sort and transmits massive amounts of information to the brain stem and neocortex. Native Americans are really superstitious about that type of thing.
I am 34 years old and have had that same problem for a couple of years now. It was very frustrating so i spoke to my psyciatrist about it and he gave me a perscription for adderall and it did improve but it still happens more than i would like seeing as I am so young.
It could be. Maybe I am just always stressed and anxious? I have history of anxiety and I am on meds. Its not like I'm feeling nervous when talking to people, though.
I used the wrong word over the weekend. I was picking up some snacks for a party, and called my uncle to get the attendance. I said "I'm bringing some snacks...chips......wait, no crackers".
Not sure if my mind goes too fast? snacks automatically lead me to say "chips" even though I was getting a cracker platter?
