To those of you who are familiar with these areas - which one would you pick for 5 day long vacation?

I am mainly interested in a nice, powdery white sandy beach (I know most of them are) with calmer water I can swim in. I like to snorkel too, but I don't mind driving to snorkel locations. I mainly want to be able to swim alot without hitting alot of rocks underneath and without strong currents or alot of wave action. Also, I want a hotel where the food is safe to eat - preferable all inclusive. It's even a bigger plus if I'm near a jungle setting. Which of these areas out of Playa, Cancun, Akumal or Tulum would you recommend? I only want to go to one location to stay and just travel to the ruins. And any hotel recommendations if you have any.

Also, is it worth taking the ferry over to Cozumel if I'm going to snorkel anyway in Akumal? I'm not a scuba diver and I don't want to stay on Cozumel, but do you think it's worth taking the trip over there for a day excursion?
