Just like everyone I can’t afford a home in SD. (Especially near the beach) I’m thinking about purchasing a home down S. but I would like to know anyone who’s living in that area? (Are gated communities that safe?)
(Will living in these places Baja Malibu or DelMar Tijuana bring me negative attention resulting in bad things h happening to me & my family?)
I just read about a Los Angels firefighter going missing in Rosarito/car stolen/condo Ransacked
8/22/20
I would like to move there & commute Monday-Friday to SD but what are the chances Something bad happening like the gentleman from LA?
Commuting M-F is a tall order. Maybe for now it's a bit more tolerable with less traffic. Not sure about certain communities but you should be fine in those areas. Thousands of Americans living there, just don't know how many who buy a house do a daily commute. Lots just rent a place close to the border and then walk across with a Sentri, then get on the light rail.
Maybe if you could do remote work most of the week and go across on occasion it might be worth it. But whenever normal traffic returns you are looking at a real slog of a commute, think 90-180 minutes going north depending on where the job is and that's with a Sentri.
I drive a motorcycle & it takes 10-15min (lane splitting to the front of the line.) The only issues would be rainy days but I'll get a sentry pass for those days.
Have you ever lived or know anyone who lives in playas (Malibu/Delmar)? Tips (does & don't) Willy702?
I've visited TJ/Rosarito plenty of times & I've always felt safe but I've never lived there.
Thanks!
