I live in miami, FL...
Some of the neighborhoods (carol city, opa locka, bunche park, lil haiti, overtown, liberty city) have really bad crime but I honestly think it's overrated! South florida is a great place and I am dumbfounded at some of the posts on the miami forum. Maybe it's just me? Where do you live in south fl, and how is your experience living here?

I live in Doral and like it I find the people bit snotty but thats their problem. It no longer bothers me.

I find the politicians here esp the Mayor monsters who couldnt care less about the poor working people who wait hours in what has worse bus service in S.Florida. Its like the poor, disabled and elderly who cant drive are hated by him.

Its a shame the people here who have cleaning women, nurses, help come in every am and than wait hours for a bus to get home at night dont care about them and keep the Doral dogs in office.

Other than that I like it lol, I would love this place is a whole new set of politicians who cared at all for the people not only the rich .
My problem in S.Florida is ONLY the politicians as most problems this place has is due to them.

Saying you live in miami is too vague... The actual miami area is very small but i doubt you live there. I live in little havanna, it sucks.

I live in Boca Raton, FL and think it's the perfect mid-sized city, especially for raising a family. All the streets are beautifuly landscaped and spotless clean. However, being young I find it a bit boring after living in San Francisco, which is why I said it's especially perfect for raising a family.

Live in Jupiter Island/Tequesta.
Relocating (back) to Miami/Coral Gables.
South Fl is great if you have a steady job or money.
Personally, I love Miami-Dade, even just crossing bridges on a motorcycle is a thrill and joy!
The views of Biscayne Bay and the Beach are beautiful

Just moved back to C Gables 6 months ago.

DW works her tail off, I work FT/PT for myself and am Mr Mom.
We LOVE our house, we LOVE our kids school, we LOVE our friends & family, we LOVE eating out. Everything else probably averages out to just better than OK.

Life is good! Hectic, stressful, fun, busy, "foodie," "oceany," hot and interesting, but good.

Good or bad, there is no place like Miami!
