We are exactly in the middle of the heaviest snow forecasted. And yes, that is a big happy face!

Freezer is up and running, I can stock up some, but I only have an electric stove.

No generator, no fireplace, no wood stove. Ack.

I'd just sit back and watch if I had the generator.
The only time I've ever seen power go out from a winter storm is when it's a big ice storm, that weighs down tree limbs and power lines and **snap!!!** I don't think we're going to see ice during this one.

I don't think the snow is going to hold off until Tuesday night, as forecast.

You know its a big storm when you see all the snow around us and the storm is still in the very early stages of forming.

We haven't gotten any snow here yet. Although I can definitely feel the low pressure coming in (achy joints).

Okay, good to know. Generac is officially on my anniversary wish list.

The achy bones explains a lot. :P

Well so far they are wrong on the first predictions I read/heard. Almost 8 here and not a flake in the sky. I had heard starting late last night or early AM after midnight. Nuthin.

Light snow in northern Genesee county...maybe an inch overnight.
Hope the big part of this storm holds off until later; I have an 80 mile commute today.
Looking forward to big snow tomorrow though!

My 87 yr old mom is in the 18-20" band and I'm worried about her losing power. And I'm already fairly iced in down here in Southern Ohio with more on the way (power will be going out down here, just a matter of how many will lose it), and I wouldn't be able to get to her in the snow. Please everyone, be good neighbors and look out for your elderly or sick neighbors. Maybe ask if they need some supplies or prescriptions before the snow hits, hit their drives with the snow blower if you have one in case they have an emergency.

They just upgraded it to a blizzard warning starting tonight at 7 for Kent, Montcalm, Ionia, Gratiot and Clinton counties.

The satellite now shows a pretty big snowstorm covering about 6 states from Louisiana up through Iowa:
