Hello,
I got to this board while looking up info on my home town of clawson and figured i would give some info based on a residents veiw.

-- Nice small town where you can expect to get to know everyone on the block
-- Our 4th of july festival is hands down the best in Oakland county
-- every one asks about jobs locally ... simple answer... not in MI atm
-- schools .. my wife grew up in clawson and insists our son goes here
-- police ... touchy subject
-- every beat cop i have met has been great.
-- we recently voted to keep local cops instead of going with county sherriff
-- resulted in lowering of services ( i asked for help IDing a suspicious car and was told " we are sorry but since they are doign nothing illegal we cant help" .
-- we now have an officer whose sole job is to enforce "code" violations ... aka property values. She goes out of her way to deal with people who have not yet broken any codes

all that said , i doubt me and my wife are leaving anytime soon.

Clawson is pretty nice. Stayed there for a while
