LPA - Lieutenants Protection Association. Again, primarily for aviators. A place where lieutenants can go and snivel and complain and bump into each other and maybe fall down a lot because they have no adult guidance.
In the Army, we use the term Lieutenant Mafia. LOL.
"No Colonel left behind" - O-6 moving directly to work for a contractor following retirement.
Old Man-the commander, even if he's fairly young (e.g. a Captain or a junior LTC).
SNAFU - Situation Normal, all fu...fouled up.
Dustbowl - where units rotating into the National Training Center (NTC) live in misery just before the rotation starts, because it's basically a bowl. Full of dust.
Mutant MRE Birds - gigantic crows at the NTC that have grown so large by eating leftover MREs, they need the bird equivalent of a runway to take off, or land.
Sham - act busy even if you're not at all busy.
Sham Shield - Specialist rank, it looks a little bit like a shield and it means it's the highest rank you can hold in the Army before you absolutely must take responsibility for things getting done.
1. Slick sleeve = Airman Basic( no stripes)
2. Mosquito Wings = Airman (1 stripe)
3. First Shirt = First Sgt.
4. Box Kicker = Supply
5. Air Force form 1 = Toilet paper
6. Bag Drag = Used during mobility excercises (the act of draging your A, B, or C bag)
7. Latrine Queen = In Basic training, the Airman that volunteered/told to keep the latrine clean
8. Chow Hall = Mess Hall (or Dining facility nowdays)
9. On the carpet = Report to the Commander and not for good reasons
10. FIGMO = F*ck It Got My Orders
11. Roach Coach = Snack/lunch truck
12. Apes = Air Police (before they went to Security Police)
Lately I've heard guys using the BOHICA term = Bend Over Here It Comes Again

Cluster F*ck. Military operation that failed or was disorganized.
Crispy Critters. Enemy troops hit by Napalm
In Country. You are now in Vietnam
Butter Bar - 2nd Lieutenant
Buck Sergeant - USAF E-4 NCO, went away in the late 90s.
Goat Rope - See Cluster F*ck above post
Mother of All Goat Ropes - A really big goat rope
Delta Sierra - Describes something (an event, maintenance work, flying skills) as being like canine fecal matter, aka Dog Sh*t
Zipper Groupies - Females attracted to aviators (refers to the plethora of zippers on a flight suit)
90-Day Wonder - an Officer Training School graduate
Zoomie - An Academy graduate
Boat Anchor - the slowest person in a PT formation. Also, the A-7 Corsair II.
