The year I retired from the Navy my wife started working for DeCA.

At that time, they were only authorized to hire part-time workers.

About five years into it, a full-time slot became open and she was able to slide into that slot.

years later when she became eligible for pension, we learned that DeCA had mistakenly kept her paperwork as if she was still a part-time worker. Her pension is on the level as if she had worked part-time for 20 years, instead of reflecting that most of her career was full-time.

If you go to work for DeCA, it is something to be aware of.

The bureaucracy of the federal gubbermint turns very slowly.

By its very nature it erects many hurdles to accomplishing anything productive.

No, we have not been able to get it fixed.
