In Navy boot camp, if someone couldn't get the hang of marching and was always out of step, they were ordered to march behind our company until they got the hang of it.

In AF basic in my time, there was the "Motivation Flight." They marched in half-step everywhere.
First day in Basic the drill sergeant told us to make GD sure we did a " courtesy flush". It quickly became apparent why he said this as we all took dumps side by side with no stalls in the latrine.
