A 2 car garage is not necessary but it's very nice. They do a good job clearing the streets. There is a lot of snow moving equipment in the metro area.

You can also get a remote car starter installed if you don't have one. It's better than a garage at times because you can remotely start/heat up your car before you leave home, work or wherever else you park.
