In May the week of the 7th, 2008, we departed the Entry Point, 33, The Kawishiwi River, on what was to be a 7 day trip into the BWCA.

In the year prior, May in the first week, I had had a successful solol 7 day trip, leaving from the ChainSaw Sisters Saloon, Entry Point. The weather on that trip was wonderful. That trip was in the first week of May, 2007.

In May of 2005, in the third week of the month, we had a successful BWCAW trip of 7 days, From Baker Lake in the Superior National Forest, we ended up at South Temperance Lake. We saw a lot strom area.

In May of 2006, the third week, on another successful 7 day trip into Gaskin Lake, From Liz Lake EP> starting at Popular Lake off of the Gunflint Trail. The weather was absolutely awesome, could not have been better, but at the end, when we were almost out, the temp dropped and it started to sleet. For ten minutes, our packs and our black dog and the water around us felt it fall.

We came to our next lake to find standing white caps, which we then decided we did not want to canoe in and plus having to cross Poplar Lake, which was quite large. We then back tracked to the next closest camp and we were then wind bound there until the next day.

Now it is May 2019. It is still snowing, and starting to stay on the grass. It was like this in our May 2008. We had arrived on the camp on the Kawishi River, only then did we actually leave after 4 days, it simply was too cold for it to be enjoyable. We went into another campground in the Superior National Forest where we car camped for the next 3 day of our trip.

Many Great Memories of May. Happy Mothers Day also; Us.
