She won a low-turnout Democratic primary against a veteran Congressman who didn’t take her seriously. Because the district is royal blue, that made her the next Congressperson.

Is this a joke? The only benefit to AOC is to increase votes for the opposing political party. Her only "shake up" if one appeared here locally is to increase republican party membership and to damage the credibility of the democratic party.
And yes she did contribute to the loss of Amazon in NYC: 25,000 jobs making an average of $150,000, $10 billion in tax revenue, and $2.5 billion in related investment.

How about AOC vs Palin in 2020? Ayatollah Khamenei will be a dead man if Sarah Palin ever makes it to the White House. On the other hand, America will be going full Venezuela if AOC were to ever win. God help us.

I've been thinking it might be time soon anyway to carve out some of the heavily populated blue areas (LA, SF, Chicago, NY, Philadelphia, Detroit, Cleveland, Baltimore, Miami, and Houston) and free them up as quasi-independent city states, with their own economic and social policies but under the umbrella of the US military.

That way the small but intensely populated clusters of blue voters in those areas wanting higher tax rates and regulations on business (as with Amazon in NY) could have their wishes, while the rest of America can stay focused on economic growth and opportunity, and on defeating terrorism. It sounds like a win-win opportunity for both sides in a way. Those blue city-states would begin quickly to nosedive into poverty and probably drop their anti-business policies, while holding on to their socially liberal policies which to me wouldn't be such a bad outcome for both sides.

I have a feeling AOC is going to be a one term congresswoman. People of her district aren't happy and if people think she didn't have anything to do with Amazon pulling out then they haven't been paying attention.
