I like Eureka from what I've read/seen. But Cut Bank has more affordable land/props. I like proximity to Canada in both locations, being a former player & now just hockey fan. But does the nearer the Cut Bank Reservation cause more probs than Lincoln county areas?

I know Libby & Troy are out due to vermiculite & so Eureka seems a good fit. I ruled out Kalispell, Shelby & Missoula too, as well -- & especially for Montana standards.

I've even though of Sweet Grass (not the county but the town).

Ok, anyone chime in?

Cut Bank has 3 times the population and the average income is much higher than Eureka. Eureka better on crime, especially violent crime. Cut Bank is above average on crime but moderately. Sweetgrass is under a 100 people but on average well off.

I still like Eureka best. I wish Troy & Libby were not vermiculite contaminated tho. But it is what it is.

Ok, my only concern is so close to Canada & that influx of bad elements can traverse thru town too often. This all in the near future if we lose control of borders via the next prez. Ok, TY for the info guys.

I don't know about Eureka, but Cut Bank just seems too close to the reservation for my liking. Are there other areas in Montana you're looking at?

I can't say I've ever heard of someone wanting to move to Cut Bank.

I know of people who would love to move to Cut Bank. For examle, a current news article says a large new grocery store is opening soon in the mall, and the 2 new out-of-state owners are excited and happy to move to Cut Bank from Washington state.

There are good, and some not-so-good, Cut Bankers, the same as anywhere else. The nearby reservation plus the county government both have problems, but Cut Bank itself is constantly striving to provide an ever-increasing variety of great businesses, recreation, and just about everything one needs, with more to come. The city is diverse, upbeat, progressive, growing, and changing with the times. There is good housing available, and plenty of good land on which to build. As many say, CB is a great place to live, work, and play.

Just my opinion.
