How many Years has your Family been living in Montana or how many Generations has your Family been here? When did your Family first arrive?

I am a 5th Generation Descendant on Three different lines of My Family. My Family has lived in Montana since the 1880s (one of my Paternal 3rd great-grandparents came here in 1882 with their children) on one side of My Family.

Both of My Parents and all of My Grandparents were all born and raised here as well as 6 of My Great-Grandparent and 4 of My Great-Great Grandparents who were also born and raise here.

My family came to Montana in the early 90s. Pretty recent arrivals in comparison.

1860 poll tax list. I'm 6th gen on both sides. It was all about the gold.

The only family that was not here by end of the civil war was one great-grandfather who arrived in 1900 from Minnesota.

Not exactly sure when we first arrived, but I just found out that my great-great grandmother is buried near Comertown (IIRC she died in 1920, at a ripe old age) and my grandmother had a cousin in Plentywood. Apparently we'd been crossing the border from North Dakota longer than I knew.

There's a Comertown history video that features a bunch of ancient Olsons... I'd be surprised if we're not related.
